Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

swing back about a dozen pages in this thread, when i first found this monstrosity on NYC craigslist and posted it here for much lulz.

i wonder if this is the same seller, or if someone actually bought that POS and is now trying to be rid of it...

Maybe we could move in together and get a zany sitcom, much like Perfect Strangers. I get to be Balki though.

Single speed with "no breaks" and no foot retention. Pictures show brake levers and brakes. . . "Rides Great" until you need to stop.

That frame is sad to have been turned into such an ugly bike.

Wow.

I haven't been on bikeforums for months but this ad made me return. As far as I'm concerned this bike wins, or loses, depending on how you view this thread.

14t on the flip, 19 on the flop? Doesn't sound convenient in any sense.

The best part of that CL ad is this:
i know what the bike is worth so no lowballing.

How much does is a used aerospoke and a weinman worth? 200 bucks maybe? So the rest of that bike must be worth 650 or so. Never realized how expensive pugeot conversions were. I need to get into that racket.
