rim color opinion

Hey all

My frame is all black and I am getting a new wheel set. I was thinking either blue or white for my rims. What does everyone else think??

deathhare 03-09-07 12:29 AM

blue

babychris 03-09-07 12:32 AM

white rims seem to be popular right now.

andre nickatina 03-09-07 12:34 AM

either one is nice. even silver deep v's would be cool. blue rims with blue bar grips look cool but a little played, black and white never gets old but white goes best with red in my opinion. get what you want! i'm kind of against getting colored rims based on just the color alone though, i think decisions should be based moreso on practicality when you're buying rims. aside from the frame i think the wheelbuild affects how your bike feels the most (assuming everything else is in proper working order, i.e. your drivetrain isn't rusting or something).

thanks

thanks for the advice. I want the Deep Vs because they seem pretty solid but why not make them pretty. I want blue and white uh oh.

marqueemoon 03-09-07 01:08 AM

After finding a nice deal on some "practical" wheels first I went for the brown Vs.

Black

silver or black box type rims
silver or black box type rims with eyelets
sissy colors are on the way out and when its out you will hate your wheels

deathhare 03-09-07 01:30 AM

blue rims are sissy? lol

jodypolk 03-09-07 01:44 AM

lol @ hating your wheels cause the color 'went out'.

buy what you think looks nice. i don't personally dig black and blue together, but get what floats your boat, it is your bike after all.

moki 03-09-07 01:53 AM

all black all the way

dogpound 03-09-07 08:13 AM

white.
to match a nice white belt.

freeskihp 03-09-07 08:21 AM

one red rim, one blue rim and white accents

barba 03-09-07 08:27 AM

Aren't white rims a pain to keep white?

I am not a huge fan of the exaggerated deep rims, one way or the other. I think a traditional silver box rim just looks right on a bike.

octopus magic 03-09-07 08:30 AM

I went blue because it matches my hubs. :)

I don't think he meant any specific color but rather obnoxious overpriced deep section colored rims "going out" all together.

andre nickatina 03-09-07 08:32 AM

White is a nice stable color that you won't get mad at yourself about years from now, I mean white Deep V's on a fixed gear look somewhat akin to a white walled tires on a cruiser from the past at a super quick glance. Yay for retro.

jim-bob 03-09-07 10:07 AM

You can get rims in colors these days?

I like plain ol' silver, personally, but white is pretty sweet, too.

ms.gio 03-09-07 10:36 AM

Of the two, I would have to go with white. The only draw back to white is actually keeping them white.

LanceW 03-09-07 11:11 AM

I love my gold Deep V's

Man. I love Lance w'. V rims. Not sure I'd want to pay for them?
I have the same dilema. I am looking to buy a new batch of tires for my bikes. My Klein frame is white.
Anyone help me out too. What color tires would you get for a mostly white/ivory frame. ? I sort of expect
I'd love the gold rims on my white Klein, but don't quite need new rims yet, I hope?
