DCfixed is down and I forgot when and where polo is.

What: Bicycle Polo (whats that?)
Where: Rush Rink (D St & 13th St SE)
When: Weekly (Alternating Wednesday and Thursday Nights)
Who: DC Street Pirates (official US Bicycle Polo team of DC)

I don't know if DC & NYC are interested, but Toronto is hosting a city-partnered Bike Polo Tourney in early June this year. Attractions include a beautiful venue, competition, spectators, a road crit the same day around (literally) the bike polo fields (2 fields). Housing can be arranged though I'll need a few days to secure that information & contacts, 6 days actually.

You'll face Toronto, Montreal & Ottawa (NA Champs those Ottawa people) for certain, and we're also inviting Philly, Portland, Chicago + NYC & DC of course, others too if we find them. Ottawa is smashing power good apparently, they are the ones to beat!

are you talking about polo with rules on the grass, or street polo the way the ny tournament will be?

I'm not in charge of the rules, or anything else for this event, but it will be played on hard surface, perhaps a larger area than normal? Each polo field is the equivalent of 3 tennis courts.

We measured our new spot (aka the Battledome) yesterday.
At roughly 100' x 50' it's fairly small.

How big is the spot in NYC?
From the photoz it looks much bigger.

That whole court is done up and paited with stuff like that.

The guy who owns/manages the shoe repair joint on the corner seemed really cool.
Totally into the community thing, you could tell he's been around for ages.

He even helped up bag up the leaves and glass!

weird bike polo is played on asphalt now... I guess it gets a lot less people pissed off at you but it just doesn't seem the same.
