blown knee, specialized trispoke WHAT
So, my knee has finally started healing to where I can be a total BIKE PONX and ride a track bike on the street (body surfing injury has kept me out of the game for like, 3 or 4 months).
To commemorate the occasion, I bought a tubbie specialized trispoke front that I can use on the track as a rear (no lockring). The question is, do I remove the "ized" and just have it read, "special" or do I remove the "speci" and the "d" and have it read, "alize"? Other suggestions welcome. PS. Any suckas in SD wanna ride? I know like, 3 people and only one of them rides bikes and she's a girl, which means she's thinking about shopping and cooking and making less money than me instead of going fast. PPS. Does balboa allow pursuit setups during open training? I'm going to become a member. Do I get a key?!?! The website makes it sound like I do. 2am races + sparks!! PPPS. anyone have a matching wheel, or maybe a disc they want to sell me? something dope, and aero and not an aerospoke. |
yo vomitron, some joker got into your account and started writing nonsense...
(glad you're healing!) |
I think you should scratch off everything but the L, I, and Z. Or "ZED". Or "SPECI".
When you look at the word 'special' for too long it begins to look like it's spelled horribly incorrectly. |
Scratch off the IZ so it says SPECIAL ED :D
|
I'd go with SPEC D

Also, the girl on a bike comment...classic stuff. |
Scratch off the Z and replace it with an S so it's spelt properly

BTW you need to have another one for the front if you want to use that one on the rear. IOW it don't make sense to have the tri on the rear and a spoked wheel on the front. |

scratch all of it off except for the ED and write in a "H" with white paint pen.
|
What's stopping you from anagrams? There's always:
SPECIALIZED CALI PEZ SF IZED (with one horizontal arm of an E removed) LEZ PADS and the fun continues.. |

vomitron,
how is SD treatin ya?? glad to hear your injuries are healing. . . there is a big group ride this friday, called the electric warriors- you should check it out. meets at 10pm at balboa park, by the big fountain at the end of el prado blvd, near park ave. basically our version of midnight ridazz, with about 200 ppl, but getting stronger. most of my friends are going, you should too if you're into that. good way to meet lots of local riders. electricwarriors if you join the velo assn, you get the gate code, so you can pretty much go anytime, and bring 1 friend if they sign a waiver (available there). i'm not sure about the rules on pursuit setups, but if you go when NOBODY IS THERE, like late at night, then there should be no prob. fyi, at night there aren't lights you can turn on yourself, but if the softball field's lights are on next to it, you should be able to see fine. |
PS- my friend has a old zipp disk i think he's gonna sell at the velodrome swap meet sunday april 1st- you don't wanna miss that!! its a rear with no lockring threads too.

|
haha. miss ya kris. i have a friend selling a zipp disc, if you want me to put you in contact send me a pm.
|
Aww, everyone beat me to the special ed. It's how we cut up all the stickers at the shop. I also mark out the Z on my tire sidewalls on the fixie (specialized casings suck suck suck riding brakeless on the street).
I'm rather fond of their mountainbike tires though. |
i think you should have midnight bandit pursuit races on the track. ferrealz.
SD, huh? i'm missing all the news. at first i thought you were talking about south dakota. thank god that ain't it. |

I was also a big fan of "****" and "SPECIAL ED". my all-time favorite, however, is the kryptonite sticker modified to read "NOT TONITE" |

-ken Anyway, it would probably be track only, or I would just JB weld a track adapter on there (I would need it to adjust chainline anyway, might as well make it permanent and have the lockring). Anyway, yeah I'll be there with bells on. PS. Anyone in SD want to go barhopping tonight? I needs to drank! |
