I run izumi esh's on two of my bikes, one with the special link, and one without. I haven't had trouble with either, and yeah, whether it's justified or not, I feel more confident running these chains on my brakeless bikes.

I was thinking it was a truncated "BACALLIN"

That's right. It's what I like.

izumi V ! last for life.

i have been running on either an izumi esh or hkk vertex for the last two and a half years and have never once had a chain break or get thrown. i have broken and rebroken both chains several times (almost every time i change the gearing, i like getting my rear wheel in as far as i can). I measure them occasionally (every 2 months or so) to check for stretch and have been quite impressed with how well they have held up. I use the bolt masterlink, and feel secure riding up and down the hills around here. im a fan of njs chains.

The 1G8 is such a pretty chain.
