What do u use to clean bike.
 

Yes yes yall. What kind of cleaning solvents do you preferably use to clean components such as the frame, & rims. Rims are alloy and I wanna keep em stunnin mayne.

Wash everything with soapy water and then use Pledge.....

I just use the hose. High pressure nozzle. Spray the hell out of everything. I hit the real bad spots with a little dish soap. Hand dry with a lint free towel, and relube everything.

very little water, damp sponge. I try to avoid degreaser and cleaner sprays whenever possible. Just wipe the muck off using a little soap on the sponge if the bike is very dirty. Never, ever use a high pressure compressor-powered nozzles. If it rains the trick is to clean the bike right after a ride before it dries

simple green:)

dishsoap+water+toothbrush for typical dirt, grime

clean streak for stubborn grease

I can't say enough positive things about the Mothers' lineup of cleaners, glazes, swirl removers, and polishes. Awesome, awesome, awesome stuff. I used 'em all on my cars, trucks, and motorcycles, too.

Damp rag, or Simple Green.

baby wipes can do a good detail cleaning

just buy the pit kit it has everything

road grit and rainwater cleans me bike off.

I just use snow in the winter.

Hose in the summer.

Angle grinder + wire brush when it gets really bad, then new paint.

If it is one of my nice vintage bikes, I will wash it by hand with soapy water and a rag, then wax with car wax.

ohh i bought some bike wash from nashbar, finishline degreasers on the frame, chain and i try to whip the hubs with a wet rag. then i put the chain back on and wipe done one more time and finally put on some bike polish.

i bought some lysol sanitizing wipes a few months ago at bj's (essentially a sam's club-esque wholesale place). they've done an excellent job of clearing off grime, and they're pretty cheap too.

You're supposed to clean bikes?

Be careful with this, a lot of the seals on a bike won't hold up to pressurized spray.

which is completely fine as long as you don't hold it right up against the bb or hubs or headset.

^Only if I had that thing in my garage, I would enjoy cleaning my bike. heh.. Ive been doing the soap/water thing & simple green. Ill try automotive cleaner which I have alot of. Thanks for the input guys.

Spray the entire thing down with Simple Green, wipe if needed, rinse with hose, dry by hand, regrease everything. At least that is what I do with my MTB, my track is mostly just wiped down with simple green and then regreased.

Depending on how much time I want to spend on cleaning I....

1. spray bike down with hose, knocking off big mud chunks if present.
2. spray down with simple green and let sit for a few minutes
3. rinse off with hose

If I want it super clean I'll go over the rims/spokes with a wet rag and just rinse off as I go b/c it just loosens up the road grit. Also a quick wipe down over the whole frame with damp rag and another rinse.

4. Re-lube chain, wipe off really well with rag, re-lube again and let lube dry (i use boeshield)
5. Squirt some triflow into cables (if present) and try and work it in as much as possible.

I too have been known on occassion to employ the services of a fine, moist posterior wipe.

I use rain to clean my bike.

i use diapers and spit. gets the job done.

Why do you have diapers full of spit?
