"chain saver" - transporting a bike
okay, so after carrying our bike sans wheels to another city, i've decided i want to make one of those...uhm. things. my wife calls them "chain snugglies." i don't think that's the official name for them.
anyways. you put them in your rear axle with the chain to keep it all nice and tight. and clean.
what are they called, and where can i see pictures? (i don't have an old hub lying around, so i figured i'd try to make one from other parts.)

What about a threaded bar, 5 - 10mm of spacing, a large washer (bigger than the pvc pipe) then a peice of pvc pipe say 10mm wide as close to the size of your cog as possible then another large washer lager larger than the pipe then what ever else t otake up the space between the washer and other dropout. Place the chain inbetween the two washers on the pipe, pull back in dropouts / track ends and secure chain.
