Brake removal
1 Attachment(s)
Ok, this question is a bit ridiculous, and embarrassing to ask but it's something I've just never done before.
I am trying to remove my rear brake, and for the life of me I don't see how the front lever comes off! It is on a pair of drop bars and looks similar to the picture below. Please make fun of me, and then answer my question :D Thanks! |
often it is inside behind the lever.

if it is like most of the old levers, you'll need a long wide flathead screwdriver.
squeeze the brake lever until you can see inside it, there is a big screw in there. stick your screwdriver in and unscrew. |
what you want to do is loosen the cable, then squeeze the lever and if you look down into the little hole that opens up you will see a slot that fits a flathead screwdriver perfect. righty tighty lefty loosey
EDIT: dp beat me to it |

you've removed the cable already right?
|
got it. there was a small set screw under the lever, unscrewed that popped off the lever, then the rest just followed. Thanks!

i have those same levers i believe, and im having the same problem. is the screw inside the lever housing?
|
No, on mine it was on the outside on the very underside of the part that fits to the bars.
