Pista Concept compared to BareKnuckle
 

so ive decided i may want to reward myself with a new frame (Pista Concept maybe). i have a BareKnuckle currently in 54cm and it fits me perfect, pretty much everything about it. now my question is, in size, how would a 55cm pista concept compare to a 54cm bareknuckle? would the bareknuckle actually be bigger as crazy as that sounds? or would they match up about the same?thanks for all of the responses!

just look at the measurments on the site. I am pretty sure the concept is 55 TT and 55.5 seat tube or so.

.5deg steeper headtube
7mm less rake.
HT 1cm shorter(not suprising I guess both are measured c-t)
Chainstay length 383mm(pista) you can figure out the barenuckle yourself.

It should feel pretty much the same as far as your position goes.

well one is steel and the other aluminum.. i'd imagine that's one of the biggest differences..

also, based on specs from business cycles and harris cyclery, the concept's trail is about 66.6 mm v. the bareknuckle's 52.7 mm (figured with 23mm tires)

you can probably get them to fit the same but they probably will feel a bit different
i guess that's part of the point in having different bikes...

Not sure about the comparison, but I just got back on my Concept after like 3 months, and it is too good to be true.

thinking about it more you should probably just get a D2 pista either the Alu or the carbon. By the end of the summer every is going to hate concepts like they hate pistas while you can probably get another year or two of cred out of a D2. The carbon has the added benefit of being a pursuit bike so that's probably the way to go.

you know your probably right about everyone hating them, but honestly i can careless if people call me a hipster or cliche or whatever, im just trying to go for a bike i actually digg, ya know? i like that new cinelli vigorelli aestically but whats up with its slack geometry? thats one thing i love about the pista concept and the bareknuckle- the agressive geometry.

This is why I love my Langster and have posted about it, oh, 50 times or so now. It has approximately the same standover height as my 50cm Surly even though my Langster's geometry converted to "conventional" instead of compact would give it a 54.8cm size. The Surly feels like the bars are directly in front of my knees, basically. The Langster fits me better and lets me stand over the thing without crushing my knutz because of the sloping top tube. Perfect.

Now I know the Pista Concept has conventional geometry but all I'm getting at is that the seat tube length is only the beginning of what you need to consider when picking a frame. It's a number that could be meaningless for you.
