Help Please
Hey Everyone. I'm new to this forum and hope I can get some bike advice. I am making an attempt to start riding fixed gear and I would like to build my own from parts. I recently bought a cayne uno frame off of ebay. Does anyone have any recommendations as to parts for this that are somewhat inexpensive for a newbie like me? Thanks so much, anything helps.

What's your budget? I'll do a generic build list:
-Wheelset: $130.00 formula/generic rim dealy -Cog/Lockring: IRO $20.00 -Crankset: Sugino RD, Pake, IRO, etc... ~$80.00 -Headset: Something generic and cheap $20.00 -Bars, post, seat: LBS specials $? -Pedals/Clips/Straps: MKS/MKS/MKS $40.00 -Chain: KMZ $8.00 ~$300.00 build. Oh, and tires/tubes. |
Ig Faction builds you a handsome bike.
Good Luck and welcome. |
you could have better components than the above listed if you bought a cayne uno complete for $450 at my LocalBikeShop and had it freight shipped to you.
but now that you have the frame i suggest getting the components you want. velocity deep v wheels would be very cool and you could probably afford them if you get used/bargainbin stuff for all the other components... of all the components you'll feel quality in the wheels and saddle before anything else. |
