New Custom 29er Singlespeed
1 Attachment(s)
Just got a new singlespeed 29er. Ridden a few fixies in the past but this is the first time of any duration on a singlespeed. The frame's made by Clark Custom Cycles, http://www.clarkcustomcycles.com
Really digin the singlespeed thing. I haven't found any times were I really "need" other gears yet and I've been riding it in the mtns around Salt Lake City. http://www.workscollective.com/myron...-myronicus.jpg http://www.workscollective.com/myron...myronicus1.jpg http://www.workscollective.com/myron...myronicus2.jpg http://www.workscollective.com/myron...myronicus3.jpg http://www.workscollective.com/myron...myronicus4.jpg http://www.workscollective.com/myron...myronicus5.jpg http://www.workscollective.com/myron...-myronicus.jpg |
that bike is hot. I cant wait til I get my s/s 29er.

Wow, that thing is awesome, very cool build. What is up with those kinds of forks? They look like they would have suspension but don't, or do they? I don't really understand the design, maybe just to hold huge tires?
|
Very nice! Just a tip though, the masses always demand drive side pics.
EDIT the masses are satisfied ... for now. Hominy HOMINY that is a great looking bike! |
How tall are you and what is the standover on that?
I'm five-nine/ten and I just can't get used to the height of a 29er. My friends that are six-two + rip it up on their 29ers. |
oh, and what is the name of that color? Is it powdercoat?
|
that thing looks sweet. is it fillet brazed?
nice build up too. is that a carbon fork? |

yeah, it's fillet brazed.
As to standover height etc... Damien Clark, the framebuilder said that essentially the virtual top tube of the bike was at or just under the 29 inch line of the wheels. I'm 5.7 with about a 29.5-30 inch inseam. And I have not problems with anything regarding fit on this frame (Although I guess that's the benefit of custom stuff) With the front fork, I think it was mentioned but it's an 80 mm suspension corrected fork. The carbon makes it light, and adds a bit of give to a rigid fork. And you could probably put the front tire for a Surly Pugsly in there, it's go not clearance issues whatsoever. "for the masses" I'll post a drive side picture later today. Sorry, not up on bike photography etiquette. Here's the general rundown of parts Fork : Bontrager Race X Light Switchblade Grips : Yeti Seatpost : Thompson Elite Stem : Race Face Deus XC Handlebar: Race Face Deus XC Headset: Chris King - Blue Levers: Avid SD-7 Brakes: Avid BB7 160mm disc Cable: Avid Flak Jacket Tire : WTB Nano Raptor Chain: Sram PC1 Chain Saddle: Serfas Furano Wheelset: Chris King Singlespeed Disc Hubs Salsa Delgado Cross Rims Crankset : Race Face Evolve X-Type SS Crankset 175mm cranks 34 tooth cog Rear Cogs: Chris King Singlespeed 18 tooth |

My voodoo has sliding dropouts and they are pretty much a total pain in the ass.

Wow it is so nice to read nice things about my work! I am so happy that I got to deliver that bike @ 24 hours in the old pueblo and got to see it in action. Enjoy the ride and I dig all the photos.
