Here is my Karate Monkey. Made a couple of changes to it and just realized I took the picture of the non-drive side. Oh well.

Its a super fun bike. I use it at most of the sort of local spots. I sometimes wish it had a fork but I can't bring myself to drop that much $ on a bike I only get to ride once a week. With a 2.55 front tire and the sprung Brooks its budget dual suspension. The 29er rolls so much better then the 26 in bikes I had before. It makes it easy. I had planned to take it out this weekend but the rain killed those plans. I just put 180mm cranks on it and wanted to test them out. I guess it will be the LA river trail, LB beach path, Signal Hill loop this weekend on the fixed gear. Do you ride a lot in town?

actually not as expensive to go custom as i'd thought.
i think the bike only ended up costing me like 1300 all done out the door (and that was paying retail for the wheels).
one cool thing i never figured out before getting a custom is that you probably will get a deal on all the parts you hang on it as well if you buy them from the builder with the bike.
having a bike that just "fits" is really nice.
later this morning i am going out to try and ride an epic philly dirt fest that should hopefully end up taking us about a hundred miles and visiting all three of the parks with trails here in the city.
this morning the sun is shining, highs predicted in the 70's; it's so awesome outside i can't wait to get out there.
LETS SEE MORE DIRT BIKES!!!!

My winter trail beater, a 1994 GT Outpost. The conversion may be ghetto, but it took a bike that spent a few years sitting in the shed and gave it a new lease on life. I simply removed the front derailleur, shifters, dremel the big ring off (welded set), use the rear derailleur as a tensioner. Summer mods will be a proper tensioner, proper singlespeed cog and spacers, stock crank and bb from the Rig.

This is mine, its an old Barracuda I got for free, had for years, hated riding it, so I rebuilt it completely. Sorry for the messy living room pic. I stripped it bare and repainted it, but I didnt realize painting aluminum is such a pain. The frame and cranks are the only things that are OG. Its slightly too big for me so Ill probably get a new smaller frame and maybe suspension fork eventually.
Oh, and I have the other matching tire as well.
