Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Taping up your seat?

i just got a flite and although i have it chained to my bike, i worry about leaving it there anyway, the seat is just too attractive. i'm thinking about taping a plastic bag over it, or just taping it up with duct tape. what do you guys think? would it affect the sit much?

If it gets hot where you live duct tape will certainly melt and create unpleasant ass mess. It just does that in any kind of sun. An Aardvark saddle cover (get it at velo orange) is meant to protect leather saddles from the rain but has the added benefit of making any saddle look really cheap. Plus it's easy to remove when you're not locked up in crackland, and doesn't add a lot of numbing cushiness to a saddle.

I'm rocking some gaffer's tape on my seat at the moment. It's working alright, but it hasn't seen much a full on summer yet.
