I wonder why the biker picked up his bike that high. It almost looks like he was going to hit the car with it.

Don't get me wrong, no defending the *** - hat but just wondering if anyone else had thought that.

i didn't really wonder, i mean it appears he was picking his bike up off the ground. Especially if he's upset, i could see lifting the bike that high while righting it.

and specifically, he picks his bike up that high after the other person kicked the wheel.

My biggest problem with the situation is that the victim says he's going to pray for the other man, maybe he is sick.

Have fun with your pathetic prayers. My response would have been if i see him again, I'm going to u-lock his face. But i guess the meek will inherit the earth! Stay subservient!

I thought he was going to try to get his bike in between him and the driver or maybe he was instinctively trying to cork the passerby's

The only reason I would pic my bike up that high is to protect myself from some ******bag trying to punch me in the face. Where is Metallo P......., Carson on this thread?

my biggest problem is the driver's uncontrolled rage. yours is that the cyclist didn't respond with more of the same. fair enough, i guess...

From watching the video, it looked like the rider was picking up the bike in order to threaten to or actually throw it at the car's hood or windshield but was attacked by the driver prior to doing so.

First of all, you don't kick people's bikes.

Second, it's a front tooth, that's a permanent defilement. Don't tell me that doesn't matter, 'cause that's BS. There is no way he's going to get anything similar looking or functional as his own tooth. Ever.

Third: you can find the video on youtube: https://youtube.com/watch?v=8H0Pb_qjj6k
and one of the comments was: "maybe I won't buy a bike this summer". So I guess, self-important car driver with a sense of entitlement to punch people in the face. wins.

The cyclist picked up the bike after the driver kicked his wheel, which seems a threatening and provocative action - in such circumstances, the cyclist was not given a large number of options. I am not saying he couldn't have just walked away, but having had your rear wheel kicked so hard it flips away, wouldn't you react in some way?

Besides, it doesn't seem it would have made any difference; the car driver was coming, and nothing was going to stop him - and the bicycle's wheel was the first one in his path, then came the cyclist.

That was Toronto as well. We have a serious road rage problem in this city due to a ridiculous amount of suburbanites filtering into the city through our amazingly poor road and highway network. We actually based our highway system off of LA. Seriously! So when drivers get in to the city after 2 hours of sucking fumes they are ready to blow their top and will. I have been assaulted twice by drivers, and had them threaten to murder me probably 5 times, and had them threaten to beat me up more times than I can actually remember. Not all Canadians are nice.

The cyclist, from what can be seen in the videos, is not at fault whatsoever, and did not make any threatening gestures or actions. The driver attacked him completely unprovoked. Whats with all the putting fault with the victim? He's an old dude on a bike who follows the rules of the road. get over it.
