I had suntour superbe pros, got em for 50, loved em, then they broke, got mks sylvans from ryand, theyre nice. good for beaters. and I just ordered a set of mks custom nuevos. I think they were 100ish, ill let you know how they are.

I just superglue my sambas to the crankarms

have had kkt top runs and sylvans botht the same mks rx-1s are nice
but I really dig my atacs

eggbeaters make bikes worth biking.

I went clipless about a year ago with Nashbar SPD clones (the ~$30 Nashbar ATB pedal that comes in black/red/blue) and that was nice. About a month or two ago, I finally was getting tired of the SPD clones and upgraded my two main bikes to Egg Beaters. They rock!

Do yourself a favor and don't buy below the stainless (SL) model. The chrome, etc. versions are made with stamped and bent steel instead of castings and people report breaking them somewhat frequently.

One bike has Wellgo somethingorathers and the other has SR SP-11s. Both have steel clips and DIY strap doublers (see my sig). One has nylon straps, the other hacked Soma doubles (which blow, don't waste your money). Overall, this type of system is the best thing I've devised so far. Secure, comfortable, supremely practical.

ugh, I know. they were awesome the first day. now I hate them. I ordered some toshi's with my custom nuevos.

how did they break ?? aren't they mostly rebuildable ?

I ripped the cage off of the body. it stripped the threads of the body not the bolt holding it in. I mean, I could of probably fix them, theyre lying around somewhere.

Road bike: Crank Bros Candys
Fixie: cheapo wellgo pedals w/ plastic clips and leather ALE straps. I had nylon straps, but broke one last week, so I wanted something that wouldnt wear through so fast. Also, the leather ones don't slip loose as easily.

I can't decide what I want. My fixie is my around town commuter/beater bike, so generally I'm also walking around quite a bit when I take it out, but I love clipless, so I cant decide.

Also, I like the candy's, but I think I'm going to switch to eggbeaters on the roadie for easier entrance/exit (and less grams, but who's counting?). The only reason I went with candys is so I could use street shoes on the little platforms for short rides, but now I have my fixie for that.

Crank Bros Candy SL. I also have a set of mallet, which are much tighter.

Miche Primato pedals from eBay for around 70. I'm happy with them they roll smooth, and not every one has them.

Man, I've been obsessing about pedals... glad to see this thread. I have several bikes, and for me it's a no-brainer to have clipless on my road bike, but I just can't decide which to have on my fixed gear. I started with MKS pedals/clips/leather straps, but then my feet would go numb on longer rides and I decided that clipless are just superior (which they are, except they suck for walking around and I hate carrying extra shoes around to change), so I got some Crank bros Candy SLs, which I love, but then wanted to have a wider platform for short rides a few blocks away, so I got some Crank Brother Mallet C pedals that I could use for that, which I got sick of since they aren't great for either (clipless or regular shoes)... and now I'm back to clips and straps. But then my leather strap kept slipping under hard skids, so I got nylon straps, but then they aren't perfect either, so maybe I'll go with double straps (or homemade ones like Fugazi Dave), or Blah blah blah blah blah blah....

Beat to hell MKS knock offs. Generic mtb clips and $5 nylon straps (only because my Christophe leather straps finally gave out after 2 years of oregon all season riding).

Thinking about MKS Sylvan Tracks with clips and straps from Bens.

currently: eggbeaters on one fg, campy pista with cinelli straps on the other. i started riding fixed on eggbeaters, so I'm way more used to them. So sweet. The pistas hurt after a while, but that's my fault, as I really should have better shoes.

Used to have Shimano 600, but they killed my feet. the back plate is like a guillotine.

On the road bikes, Campy Triomphe and Campy Chorus (early 90s, c-record era). Pay attention: Triomphes are the bestest pedal evar. They shine up like a dookie platinum rope, and are built for regular flat shoes, unlike most pedals. Best of all, they have steel cages (unlike c-record, CdA, and Chorus) so you won't break them after a month.

I'd like to get a pair of mks touring lites or GR9s. Lots of surface area. Not the sexiest, but real nice anyway. I'd like to try ATACs; Maybe when the beaters break.

I was running christophe steel clips for a while until i broke one. then a short while later i broke the other. I heard from a couple messengers I met from portland that most people who actually do messenger work run plastic cages for this reason. they seem more durable and are cheaper if one should break. They're not quite as comfy as the steel ones but they're pretty good.

I have GR-9's with plastic clips and soma singles. I hate the GR-9's, they are just too narrow for my feet. They cause pressure spots on my feet that hurt after long rides. The soma staps kinda suck too, they stretch out like mad. They get the job done though.

I need to step my pedal game up.

Time ATAC Aliums on all of my bikes, though I'm thinking about getting a set of XS because they're supposed to feel better. I think I might also switch to some vintage pedals with clips and straps on my conversion, just for fun and period correctness. I like the way that clips and straps look on old road bikes, converted or not. Also, even though I can walk around all day in my Dominators, it would be nice to just wear regular sneakers when I'm not going to be on the bike a lot.
