Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? How do you know it was much better if you didn't go? LOSER!

I did the same thing. It was going to be like 100 bucks for the tickets (I went to a private school), so I said f*ck it and got my friend to hook me up with 2 tickets to medieval times. We dressed up all fancy and went to watch the gallantry while eating chicken with our hands and drinking terrible red wine. We were in the green (rowdy) knight's section and he won the day! The crowning moment though was when my date was selected as the princess of the evening and went to sit with the king. I was afraid she might dump me for the king since he was one smooth operator. After that we hit up a jazz bar with one of David Bowie's old bassists playing and drank martinis, then we went to one of the afterparties and mad everyone jealous of our evening, and then everything kind of fades into a dark blur. Good times!

for some reason, i can't imagine a high-school aged shiznaz spending his prom night any other way than going to medieval times...
