Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

HELP: First fixed gear

I'm building my first fixed gear starting with a NYC bikes Track frame. Does anyone have any suggestions on what parts I should build it up with? Especially wheels. Iím doing it on a budget and would love to know of any quality less expensive parts.

If you use the SEARCH, the answers you seek will be found.

You've asked a very broad question and the hundreds of possible answers would probably confuse you more.

I'd just check out the fixedgeargallery and copy the bikes you like. Or check out inexpensive complete bikes like the Bianchi Pista and copy its parts.

There. I've spread the gasoline and thrown the match.

Alex Track Wheelset for $120
The rims are semi aero Alex R450 with a machined braking surface
Is this a really bad set?
