favorite fixed gear ever

Well, it's my favorite for the next 2.843 seconds (I'm a girl, totally flighty!). But on to the total n00b question - this guy didn't have it professionally clear coated. Would that protect the paper, or just be a more expensive way to make it last an extra month or two? Would that cost boatloads of money? I kinda sorta really want to do this! Thanks. hillary! :D |
Professional clear coating IMO wouldnt be worth it, it will protect the paper, but it would eventually still get messed up. I would just do what he did with the spray on clear.

That being said, I do think it's pretty. |

I dont get why he stripped the paint first
|
i dont know what to tell you about the cost and benefit of getting a professional clear coat
except that if the bike will be a beater anyway i dont see the point in putting the extra money in besides beaters are about diy |
If you want some serious BLING factor, some one should do that project with dollar bills. If you think about it its would be like $50 at the most and would have people talking about that **** for days

Well done or professional twist lacing doesn't really hurt strength all that much. I raced on a set of BMX wheels that were 4 twist for a couple of years, and did dirt jumps/street etc. Those, however, look to be done rather loose and I would be pretty scared to hop a low curb with em.
