bare knuckle or gunnar street dog?
So I've been oggling the bare knuckles frame for about a month now. Almost ordered one until today when i got a chance to check one out in person. The quality was amazing of course but i was a little bit surprised by the weight. I was expecting something a bit lighter for some reason. Especially considering the frame I checked out was a 50cm and I'm going to be ordering a 56. I remember riding a very lightweight road reynolds 853 last year so now I'm thinking about a Gunnar Street Dog. Does anyone think the weight difference will be significant enough to justify the extra $75-100 for the gunnar (i would buy the eai in person with nyc tax etc and bargain shop/ebay the gunnar)? I really dont know much at all about gunnar frames. Should I just quit whining and buy the EAI?

for one, the geometry's completely different between the two. The Bareknuckle is a track bike, the Gunnar is a single speed road bike. what kind of ride are you looking for?
The BN is made out of a decent Deda tubeset, nothing spectacular. The Gunnar is made of a custom blend of True Temper OX Platinum and others. Maybe a bit nicer, probably slightly lighter.
Gunnar is made by Waterford, so you can be assured that they're well made.
