Looking for some red tires
i heard really bad things about the conti ultrasports and how they dont go in the rims easily, and since this will be me changing a tire on my own for the first time i dont need any extra hassle. I found some red Michelin Speedium's on nashbar. Anyone run these or suggest something else? Im not looking to spend a whole lot.

Vittoria Rubino Pros come recommended by lots of people, and come in red.

The ultrasports are great.
PS Your LBS probley has some for you to look at personally. |
Anything with the brand Michelin on them will be tighter than *****. The Vittorias previously mentioned are bad enough, but they look good and are pretty good tires. Hutchinson has red sidewalls, too, but they cut easy. Sooner or later, you have to nut up to tough tires. They're a fact of life. Practice at home rolling the tires on and learning the technique. You need to be ready.

I just got Yellow Speediums..they went on pretty easy..'cept that they come folded and it was kinda funny to get them on..but yeah they're alrite if you're not going to be participating in the longest skid competition everyday..

I picked up some Speediums from Performance in red for $10.99/each. I'm just running the front now so I can learn to skid and wear out my Kenda's. :)
|
too bad I can't find a 650 in red under 40
|
I like my Speediums a lot. You can't go wrong for under 12 dollars. They were pretty tight to put on but it just takes some willpower.

yah i think im going with the speediums, but ill see how good i am at changing it.

Serfas Seca FPS.. I have one on my road bike, and it's nice and smooth, good looking, and really easy to skid on, which might mean it'll last.

This guy (Jim Langley) makes putting tyres on/off way too easy:

I really like my Rubino Pros. The folding bead is surprisingly easy to mount and I've never flatted due to anything else other than my own stupidity.
