Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Did my first skid today . . .

comin down a steep hill to a red light at about 10 mph. Never really tried it before, but put all my weight forward, kind of hopped the back wheel in the air, and locked it with my left foot, and slid for about 15 feet.

It was that easy.

now sit down. turn the bike left or right. skid and lean. have fun knowing you just did a fishtail.

the best though is the 180 skid, i finally got them down smooth, just a matter of torquing the bike just right.

And while this protien shake is undoubtably having an effect on me, it's not the kind of effect you think.

Been sober since my accident. It's not a good idea to get a buzz with a fractured skull.

Your legs will very quickly adapt, these are the same muscles you use to pull up on clipless/strap pedals. In a week you won't think twice. And you'll also need new tires
