Would these be overkill?
On my montain frame single speed conversion, I really want to go with some wide slicks, as much for aesthetics as for cruising performance.
I'm eyeballing either these: http://www.chopperbikes.es/IMAGENES/...rTireBWRed.jpg or these: Bontrager Big Hanks http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/im...mbs/107797.jpg Both are 2.1's which should fit just fine. What do you think? |
I'm thinking thanks! I've been looking for something like the big hanks. That and finally getting a rigid fork for the 1x1

more than you need
? probably so much more than you need that they would be unjustifiable ? nope get em if theyre your thing |
I wanted wide slicks when I built up my mountain bike conversion. I got the Swiftor by Innova, the 26x2.0 size. I got mine from some website for about 10 bucks each. I've ridden maybe a hundred miles on them so far and I really like them. They are wide and slick and cheap.

I have the Hanks on my Brodie UniBomber and they are awesome....fat/phat/sticky...

what are the top ones and do they come in 700c?
|
the top ones look like 26 inch beach cruiser tires that electra had on a bunch of their bikes. my friend had them and that edge on the sidewall dosnt feel good when cornering.

I have the hanks on my polo bike and they're also on our shop cruiser. I wouldn't put them on anything but a townie bike...

no...these are overkill
http://www.schwalbetires.com/node/61/ok in 700x2.35....over 4 pounds for the set. good luck with clearance. |

The wider the tire, the sweeter the ride.
