looks more like it's built for looking at rather than riding

how come your bars are so high?

Probably because its built for riding comfortably and just happens to have been built up with an eye for coordination. Some people can't handle big saddle to bar drops, but as long as they are happy and feel comfortable, they will ride it more.

Citify, your saddle, wheels, and stem look great -- nicely done.

New to my setup:

17T EAI cog (3/32)
Mavic CXP22s laced to 32H Formulas
Forte 115mm stem
rattlecanned black headset spacers

Reading comprehension is obviously not your strong point:
"dont make fun of my stem setup its temporary." But hey! No harm in that! I missed your the pics of your bike, please repost them.

thanks man, for some reason, looking at those photos now, it looks like my bike is getting ready for a caving/mining adventure with a headlamp and water and stuff, haha.

It is the stock one. Actually I hadn't replaced it because I have such little experience with saddles. On past bikes, I've used super crappy ones. I liked the nashbar f-1 race saddle (with cutout) somewhat, however, I'm having a hard time determining what's best for a 100% fixed gear setup, with putting more weight on the saddle typically, etc.

Do you have a recommendation in the $50 range? Or are all saddles going to be crappy until you hit the $90+ range?

And actually, what makes the stock saddle bad? Typically slightly less padding is better, right? Plus, this cut-out seems like it may just be more for looks than functionality... not sure.

thanks! i'll check those out on some sites this evening.

i used some black reflective 3M Scotchlite tape to cover mine, it's pretty thin stuff, and not too noticable.

Zip, the brooks B17 (ducks) is $70 on gnashbar with 10% off over $100 today, for what its worth. If you don't like their "clunky" looks you can always chop it.

BTW, I got lost in your blog for a while today procrastinating. Some very interesting shots/stories!

Could anyone give me a definitive length on top tube and standover with the 57 or 60? I'm trying to decide between the two, and the BD page shows different dimensions than the Mercier page.

How'd you guys cut the steer tube or whatever. I tried cutting it today but I couldn't figure out how to get the star nut out or what to even do with it :x
