Hi all, I am new to this whole fixie game and I just recently bought a mercier kilo tt. I am planning on getting a diatech goldfinger lever, but I am not sure what cables and brakes actually fit/work for this bike. Also, installation advice and pictures of your brake setup would be nice too. As you all know the mercier kilo tt comes with a flip flop hub, so all I need to do is add a freewheel? Please be thoughtful and help a newb out! Thank you

Dear Fixedcommuter,
Please read at least the past 5-10 pages, if not the entire 303 pages, before you ever post again. Both of your questions (and all other questions you could possibly ask) have already been answered.
Sincerely,
xSnakobx

As I recall, that's been brought up a few times before, but nobody's done it (whether it can or cannot be done, I have no idea).

its hard to be a d!ck in here cuz at some point im sure some of us asked pretty stupid questions (i sure did) and the response wasnt too harsh.

maybe a new thread is in order. just for the noobs. that way arseholes will know to take it easy. srsly tho, some of these latest questions have been horrendous, obvious, easily discovered with the slightest bit of research, etc.

dear new kilo owners,

were sorry for being d!cks, but do some effing homework ok?

-toast.

If you're only gonna run a front brake I suggest you get a good one, for that I suggest you ONLY use the Zero Gravity brakeset. it comes as a set but you can always ebay the rear one and get some money back. Colorado cyclist has them on sale for under $350 for the set right now, hurry get yours!

Translation: buy a brake that costs as much as your whole bike.

I don't think i've ever met a larger ensemble of ****-faced misers in my life.
It's like some of you just sit here on the internet, waiting to be a ******* to newbies.

I mean..i get it....you've been riding fixed your whole life right?
I find it so funny how some of the biggest *******s on this site probably post more than ride.

And before I get flamed for this...i agree that newbies reading the entire thread first, or using the search
feature.... i just don't believe you have to act like a prick in the process of telling them this info.
