hi, new to bikeforums as a non-lurker, not new to this thread. it's pretty much singlehandedly convinced me to get a tt after months of riding my trusty conversion and poring over specs and prices of every other entry level 'track' (tarcky roadtrack) bike out there (well, along with someone on craigslist sweetening the deal a little). so thanks guys. thanks for arguing, being silly, crazy, and enjoying your bikes (and posting a new picture everytime you change your handlebar tape, or just because). i read through at least the first 50 pages or so before skipping to posts starting in 2009. (fyi cc700 you've been posting on this thread for 2 years)

my 'new' used bike is a 50 cm green, stock except:
  • risers with black ourys
  • thomson elite seatpost
  • blue soma ensho saddle
  • blue weinmann dp18's laced to black dimension hubs with black spokes
  • blue conti ultra sports
  • black all-city track pedals (getting clips and straps tomorrow or stealing off my other bike)
i might post pics but i doubt anyone is curious to see yet another color coordinated green tt color coordination isn't really my thing, if i could have my way i'd do black on black with black and black more like my conversion, but this bike will do for now, i could care less what people think of it.

sizing: (i found that to be one of the most helpful aspects of this thread) i'm 5'6", 31" inseam (girls "have long legs"?) and have normal/average length arms and torso (my arm length is "square", also 5'6"). my conversion is the same "size" (52 cm top tube) but the kilo in "50 cm" fits me so much more comfortably (zero offset seatpost and a stem that's 20 mm shorter probably make a world of difference). i'm just glad i didn't spend on a new 47 thinking i needed a shorter top tube, 50 is perfect. i really want to see the 44. weight is actually comparable to my conversion, but that might be the wheelset. or it might just be as weighty, steel is steel.

oh yeah, i have to ask, since i read at least 1/3 of the 300 pages of this thread, I NEED HELP WHAT SIZE HANDLEBARSSZZ? juuuuust kidding

gold kilo

Sorry for the horrid pictures. I tired to chose the ones that best represented the color, but its not nearly as nice looking as real life.

I love it. The toe overlap is scary though, even over 5 mph.

Good pics chadr. mucky, it looks SO much better in the sun...just got mine back today from the shop, and it turned some heads when the sun came out. I've got everything on except the brakes...does anyone have the tektro r530s with cane creek s2 headset? I'm having some spacing issues getting my front brake mounting.

Nice work!
You painted the seatpost... is it painted all the way down into the seat tube?
On mine, the tolerances between the post and seat tube are pretty tight.
Just wondering if it would still fit if I painted mine too.

P.S. I LOVE trident watermelon... It helped me quit smoking this year.
