super classy! track drops with track grips look too crazy for me on the street, but that's a great looking build.

I had the fork threaded. My friend at my lbs did it. He said it was a huge pain in the ass.

haha! i dont know that i have ever received a compliment with the word obnoxious in it. it is tarck, but i thought it was done tastefully at least. its got flow and balance and i realize the blues dont match, but what can you really expect from three different manufactureres, right? this bike gets ridden around a city and what not. the build reflects the purpose i guess?

what is so bad about the messenger cranks in particular? i realize theyre not 75's but im also not spending that kinda money on cranks any time soon. i could have found something in a 144, but i didnt want to also have to buy a new chainring. i didnt want to get black ones, cuz the bike would have just been too black if i had. i realize i might catch some ***** for being so worried about how the bike looks, but i love the customization process of picking and choosing each particular part and colors etc., sorry.

anyway, if you think this build is obnoxious, just wait til you see the one i got lined up for my girlfriend. its going to be a cupcake on wheels. its going to be awesome to build up something THAT ridiculous and then not have to ride it hahahaha

im not a track rider, so im not about to build bikes for the track or ones that look like their going on the track. mostly, though, i feel like a track build just doesnt look right with a threadless stem like the kilo's. i would like to build something up for the track one day, when i actually have the money for it. some nice track drops, 144 cranks, tight clearance on the fork, some quality hubs and lightweight components. everything silver/polished. would be lovely.

awesome, i wonder if i might ever come across one that i can swap forks and see it in person.

i meant obnoxious as a compliment. I mean, when you build something w/ such bright colors you have to know it's gonna stand out and be, for lack of better wording, obnoxious. I think it's cool, I like tarck bikes.

Kilo TT

Hello

are stock Kilos allowed here? I got this for a friend and do not know what she is going to do with it.

no offense to your friend, bianchigirll, or anyone else who has one, but I hate the gold kilos. I think the paint is really really ugly. Just throwin that out there...does anyone else agree? It's too...highly concentrated. Looks like a dehydrated person's urine.

I want to upgrade to a 1 1/8 headset and stem on my kilo. Can I just buy a new fork with 1 1/8 and a new stem at 1 1/8 and it will pop right in?

thanks

I think you HAVE to use a 1 inch headset, but you can use a shim to put a 1 1/8 stem on a 1 in steerer tube. Acutally this is a bizzarre question, you want to use a 1 1/8 headset SO BADLY that you are going to replace the fork?

But instead of stock, snarky comment, you can purchase a shim that will allow you to run 1 1/8 stems on your 1" fork. Why would you want to get rid of he lugged fork. Looks really nice.
My purple machine will be ready as soon as I cut the fork and install the star nut. Well, guess a brake would be good, too.

I'm not ashamed at all. Don't be so sensitive. I didn't mean any offense by it, I was just pointing out that I think it's an ugly color. Not that big of a deal. Chill out.

I don't take kindly to strangers telling me I should be ashamed of myself. There are a lot of moral judgments made by people on this forum, and I'm not cool w/ it. Don't ever tell me I should be ashamed of myself. Especially for saying that a color of a bike is ugly. I would be ashamed of myself if I cheated on my girlfriend or killed someone, not if I called something ugly.

your original comment expressed your opinion in a less than polite way. zips comment did the same.

Alright well attacking a color of bike is very different from attacking a person. I didn't realize I had to sugar coat my bike opinions. Jesus.
