Nevermind the standover height, the 50cm Kilot's top tube is 53cm. Probably too large considering that your regular 49cm road bike probably has a 49 or 50cm top tube.

the tube top is 51.8 with a 100mm stem. which is fine. and i think i could possible go a bit larger, but within reason. So what do ya'll think of the windsor or motobecane as an alternative?

The 50cm kilo takes a 45mm rake fork. The other sizes take a 40mm rake. The nashbar fork has 43mm rake, so your handling will be more sluggish for large sizes, and more twitchy for the 50cm size.

i llike my motobecane. its more of a road geometry, but still pretty nimble. the wheels are nicer too. formula hubs.

the windsor is pretty much the same frame as the kilo

Why spend that much on a fork? That fork would cost more than half of what you originally paid for the bike. Why not just buy it and ride it. Give it some time and see if you really need to change that fork for whatever reason; whether it be for the threadless stems or carbon feel.

cc700 posted how he did it ways back. He bought just the frameset, so apparently had a long steerer tube that he cut down.

if you REALLY want threadless stem usage that bad then thats your best bet.

no, it's different. it has water bottle bosses and no eyelets for fenders or racks. it's pretty much the same frame as the messenger, but the kilo is different. if anything, the kilo is like a khs flite 100

it's also got different geo and no tapers or crimps, it's all straight tubes. it's the same as the fuji track.

the mercier is made out of the same steel but the mercier has a reynolds stamp and it's called reynolds 820 instead of just "4130 chromoly" like the windsor. they're basically the same metal, and i think they're both double butted... but they are different frames in all dimensions.

Rear hub spacing is 120mm correct?

What's the front hub spacing?

I'm sure these will work but I'm just double checking.

Oh and one other thing, if I want ALL black rims, they have to be non-machined, right?
