Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm 6', and have a 31' inseam (I have a long torso) and the 53 fits me perfectly. I think you'll be fine, might have to swap for a shorter stem though.

sorry, but I dont know how to explain it..

If I pull on my bars, they rotate, like, the spin as if the bars in the stem are loose, but the only part that turns are the dropped sections...not the top of the bars, i dont know how to explain it I guess

Yeah that stumps me also. Sounds like your bars are flexing six ways from Sunday.

considering it's brand new and the frames will be out of stock for a while, that's not too farfetched.

in fact, if it was a 53 i'd be all over it!

They're supposed to be in stock in early February. I guess if you're impatient, you can spend an extra $25-$30. If I were in the market for a frame, I'd just wait a week.

i know what you are talking about! mine does it too. i can't explain it any more clearly than you have. it surprised me the first time it happened, but it isn't much of a problem, just a quirk. if you find a way to stop it though, please post it!

actually this was a chop no flop on road bars, not the soma.

but i say go for it. i love the look and especially with the top flats from the road bar, it's comfy.

Specific sections of your bar aren't going to rotate freely from each other...this makes no sense.

yeah i was a little confused by that too. i think he means the top portion rotates but doesn't change position relative to the bike because it's straight...
