that was the joke. njs is the governing sanctioning body of japanese track racing and it approves certain bicycle parts for use in competition... but it's a three letter abbreviation that to americans who don't really know much means 'japanese and somewhat special' just like japanese domestic market parts. the joke was that your car has a jdm front, your bike could follow suit with NJS parts.

Repost from "The new Post Your SS/FG Photos!"

My Newly recieved Kilo TT Stripper in RAW (though to me it looks like its painted grey...)

Had to wait all morning for UPS:

All of the packaging off (minus the pedals):

Put together quickly:

Then I had to take it out for a spin, get the tires pumped up, the brakes checked, and everything sorted out:

Thought I would pick up some fenders (seeing as I do live in PDX):

And then of course some nice artistic shots, as I am a photographer:

And I also do small custom vinyl jobs:

First day, pretty much first single speed, and definitely a lot of plans for my new Kilo[/QUOTE]

I am definitely switching those handle bars out for a nice set of bullhorns, and I figured I would replace the stem at the same time. Perhaps I will flop'n'chop those ones for now, but my brother said he might have something lying around for me. I'm definitely fixing it soon.

My new matte black Kilo, pure stock right here. I will definitely be upgrading parts soon...

My patience was put to the test with bikesdirect restocking these, I am happy with the look of this bike. Now just waiting for my black risers!

Your front wheel is installed in the wrong direction, well, more like the tire but the tire is pre-assembled.

non drive side for the loss.

also, the flat black looks awesome.

the raw would look awesome if it had all black components. it looks like that masi especialle ltd.

i am remembering how much i hate the *look* of the stock kilo components on the otherwise sexy as hell frame.

also, i'm a photographer too. if i take a picture of my contact information, is that not considered vending?

The front tire on my brand new Chrome Kilo blew out literally on my first ride. I've never blown a tire out in my entire life. Not only did the tube blow, my tire tore. Granted it probably had something to do with braking too hard without a good feel of how nimble my new bike was, but do you think it's worth writing the manufacturer? My LBS recommended this when I got the tire replaced, which btw means I now have an ugly tire that doesn't match. My life sucks.
