yeah those will work. i'd get bars that you can hold in your hands first though, bars are the last thing to buy online.

I wish Feb. was here so I could get a frame. I want to build one up this winter but I hate waiting.
I guess I could start looking for deals on parts since I have time to look around.

I'd wait a bit on the Nashbar ones, and get a pair of Nittos, you'll probably like those much better in the long run.

I just got a pair of these instead of the Nitto RB-021s that I had
https://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ils&ProdID=849

I prefer them as they have a much more mellow drop. getting the Oury's on was a ***** and they seem to flex a little more than the Nitto ones but pretty nice. I prefer cross levers to the bar end ones because the end of the bars is pretty far away!

I still think I prefer risers!

well, i joined some friends for a real ride through downtown cincinnasti last night. i absolutely loved the bike and it performed well. i'm going to need a front brake to keep up on some of these downhills though. it had rained earlier in the day which made learning skids really easy (and almost a necessity to actually come to a stop without brakes).

i managed to smoke one of the clips. i had to take a foot off at an intersection and i must have hit a pothole or something at just the right time. it broke both the bolts holding the reflector where the clip bolts onto the pedal. oh well, i hated those things anyway and used this as an excuse to order some MKS touring pedals and steel toe clips. those plastic clips are a pain to use.

i had also gotten the velo-orange TT protector. i didn't pay attention to the fact it was for a 1" top tube though. it doesn't fit quite right but it seems to do the job. i took a 'drunken fall' in my friends apartment and survived what surely would have dented the TT pretty good. haha.

a pic.. why not?

I've had my Kilo TT for about 5 months now, I recently moved to Portland and got a new build, so I have been jumping the hell out of the TT. At first I was kinda scared at how it would hold up, but now I got a nice bike, so I'm not really worried. I ride bmx, so basically I'm riding the 50cm Kilo like my 20 inch bmx... not quite, but I'm getting better. I am just wondering how much force the wheels can take? I think I have dropped about a 2.5 foot ledge but I am worried to go any bigger? I'm also contemplating getting tubeless tires since I get flats pretty much every time I ride. Since I'm not trying to blast I don't think it will be an issue if it feels a little soft. Anyone else trick their kilo?

it's the kilo and the target suicide fixie! arch enemies meet!

i don't know of anyone who's tricking their kilo like that. a 2.5' ledge sounds pretty harsh. let us know what you do to break it!

I'm not sure I could even take that drop, not to mention my bike, thats pretty gnarly. Here's mine, haven't posted it in a while, not much has changed, you can see my goofin' off brakeless risers in the background. Pretty much everything except the frame, fork and wheels will be replaced, overhauled, and moved to a conversion for my girlfriend. Wheels will eventually go to her.

overall cc700 you seem to have bought a lot of conversion materials and parts for your kilo TT apart from the 350 bike how much have you spent up to now?

i didn't buy the 350 bike i bought the 175 shipped frameset.

but yes, i have spent a ****ton.

if you just look at what's on the bike, and not the four handlebars and three stems and two seatposts and three saddles and two headsets and all sorts of duplicate parts i've bought...

i'd say less than 600. but the cranks were used and the wheelset i got robbed on. i could be on deep v's for what i paid.

aah wifi sucks... but yeah if it wasn't for the bike i wouldn't be so broke.

let's see... without duplicate parts:
it's probably closer to 700.

but you can do it cheaper. maybe 500-600 with good, but cheap parts. for example, parts bin handlebars and whatnot.

my wheels were about 240 with cog and everything.

I am about 5' 11" 3/4 - 6" tall (I know, basically 6"), I have an inseam of about 33" (probably a TAD more or less). What size frame should I get? I canceled my order of the Kilo TT just now because I had my doubts on what size frame I should get. So now I have a whole bunch of parts which I bought in preparation of my new bike just sitting there. Can anyone please help? I took a look at the geometry charts but I still can't figure out whether I should go for the 53 or 57.

I would say 53cm or 55cm but you might want to check this thread a few pages back they discussed the frame sizes.

i got mine from bike island on ebay but they're all out.

spicer has something similar apparently.

bikesdirect said they'd have more in february.

i hope that helps.

for the future, laziness or not using the search function isn't really the best way to get people's help.
