Guy ran a stop sign. Going 40 right at me. I make a sharp left around him and right then some lady had to open her door and i slammed into it and flew over my bars. the guy helped me up, and before I could even go over and check my bike, hes gone. -_- Didn't even get a chance to get the guys info. Got the lady's info but it wasn't her fault at all.
In the end, i got f'ed with a toasted frame, hairline crack on my arm.

Took my bottom bracket out today, the threads were flattened on it, and I had to have the LBS retrace the shell threads before I put the new one in, but I'm feeling more justified now in replacing it preemptively.

I received the Spicer frame a couple days ago that can be found here
It really is just the kilo tt frame re-branded, but the decals are removable and was power-coated by Gene himself. Also the fork isn't threaded or even partially threaded. Overall I am very satisfied and would do business with him again.

Sadly I was. But by the time I saw him, I was right in front of him so if i would have pulled the brake, I would be X_X. And right when I turned left, I didn't even have any time to respond. The door was right in front of me. I did pull the brake a little trying to slow myself down but that didn't stop me in time. Smacked right into the ladys door.

Kilo TT sizing
Looking to get my first bike. Thinking abut the Kilo TT. I was measured at my LBS and they said I was a 56 (that was for a Fuji Track). Since the Kilo only comes in 53 and 57 which size would make the most sense for me. 53 or 57? Is it better to go smaller or larger? Do bike sizes vary by make/model...meaning do bikes run large or small?
Any help would be great since I can't go to an LBS and sit on a Kilo. And yes, I've read all of the threads but wanted a more specific answer from the people on this board. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Can someone give me the name/type of tape that they got off eBay that they used to cover the logos on their Kilo? I can't remember what page it's on and sifting page through page again would really suck. Much thanks.

So, in the last few days, after getting my tt, I've been in my LBS a bunch of times (I'm turning my former fixie into a grocier getter/weather bike) I bought some tools, a few little parts, had them re-trace the bb threads etc. Today, since I don't have a spanner wrench I had trouble getting the lock ring tightened all the way down, (I was using a punch and hammer) and hot tired of thinking it was good, going out and realize I was wrong, so I popped over to the bike store. The guy tightened it right up in about 1.5/2 min. I figured, esspecially since I'd been in there so many times the last few days, the guy, which I'd see a million times, would do me a favor and not charge me....but nope, he charged me FIVE bucks labor for 120 seconds of work! Am I out of line?? or is this uncool?

No I didn't buy the bike at the shop, but yes, I have been going in the shop previous to this project, although not nearly as much (probably not enough for them to recognize me from before). Yes, I suppose I outght to just brush it off, but for five bucks, if I ever need the that service again, I could nearly have bought my own tool, which pulls me toward the conclusion that I should just buy the nessesary tools, whenever needed, and just start doing all the work myslef. Plus thats more fun anyway.

i think something is up with my fork , the wheel does not nest in the dropout in a centered position, you have to fiddle with it like you would a rear wheel in order to get it centered.
its been like this since i got her in the mail right after thx giving,
is this abnormal? ive never noticed it on any other bike

The only time I've ever got comped stuff at shops I don't usually visit is if I'm out on a ride and I have a problem. Wrenches typically have sympathy for a rider who might otherwise be stranded.
If you didn't buy your bike at the shop, or are not an exceedingly charming person, then $5 is standard going rate to have a mechanic work on your bike, even if it took two minutes.

Anyone want to trade their 57cm for my 53cm? I bought a green TT awhile ago, haven't ridden it very much but find it a little bit too small for me. I would prefer to keep the green, but other colors would be interesting. I could swap stock for stock or just framesets if someone was interested. I'm in LA...

Took my TT for the first ride today. I'm new to FG so it was very fun to do something else. Gotta throw some new pedals and tires on ASAP. It felt like my feet were going to break the plastic on the stock setup. Anyway, I'll post pics when I feel there's something worth seeing.
