I can't go through the entire thread, it's just too long.

Anyone in the 5'4" department have any problems with a 50cm? How's the fit? Or does it even fit at all? Never hovered over a Kilo TT in person so I wouldn't know anything about it as far as standover. My geared road bike is a 49cm but I've been drooling over a Kilo TT for a while now and I'm hoping it'll be a decent match.

I'm 5'5" with an inseam around 30 (maybe a little less) and with both feet on the ground, I'm pretty much sitting on the top tube. This doesnt matter since I almost always have at least one foot on a pedal. the toptube lenght works for me with a 90mm stem

I'm 5'4" with a 28" inseam and I bought a used 50cm Kilo TT frame a year ago--even though I knew it would be a little too big for me--since I was getting such a good deal on it. My bits definitely graze the top tube when I'm standing over the bike, but with a 90mm stem or shorter it's been fine. When it came down to it, I didn't like my options for 49cm budget track frames and is 1cm really going to matter all that much? I've been happy with the Kilo thus far, but when it comes time to investing in a nicer, more expensive frame, I think I'll want to get professionally fitted first, and maybe find one with a slightly shorter top tube. Toe overlap is probably your biggest concern with this small frame.

Quick beginner's question. I'm looking at some gearing changes and want to know if the Kilo is 130 BCD or 144 BCD? Thanks. Also, I was recommended by my LBS to consider 42/17 or 42/16 because of the hills around my area. Anyone have experience/opinions/suggestions on that gearing as well?

42/16 should be fine unless it is super hilly plus it means you only have to buy the ring (salsa makes good cheap 42t rings). 130bcd is the ring you're looking for.

I have heard that it is not a good idea to relace a wheel differently then it was originally laced, then again I have never built a wheel so I am not an expert.

No, most of the spokes aren't the same size...

I think.

Well, it wouldn't be re-radial lacing it, since it's not presently radially laced. Anyway, this won't work because of the differing spoke lengths, and isn't advisable because a hub that's been laced in one fashion, should not be laced in a different fashion. The spokes have worn a groove into the hub, and new grooves can cause the hub to fail.

okay thanks! and i just wanted to double check again about the fork crown size, i checked back on this thread and there was a dispute about the sizing being either 26.4 or 27 and that was unclear also. i know mavimao said it should be 26.4 but i just wanted to double check because i have a 27 head set and i need to return it just incase its wrong. thanks again

HS is 26.4. You CAN relace the wheel in an alternate pattern...in fact, SOMETIMES you SHOULD re-lace differently if the hub HAS worn grooves. I'm sure others will argue. If you are going to run a brake then I suggest you NOT radial lace though...

I think that would look pretty hot too but the natural gum look has a classical appeal to it. I like it. The saddle can go though.

Your inseam is just 30 inches? That's one long ass torso. You should ride a 50cm but a size up might compensate for your long torso with a longer top tube. Someone else can chime in better about that though.

Gommitalia tires ride like Tubulars in clincher form...Sweet tires. Calypso I believe is the model.
