I had to strip the paint, slightly sand them with 600 wet and up, and buffed away. SO, now im going to relace them with same original black hubs and stainles steel silver spokes, silver nipples.
got em off ebay too, a while ago.

oh i see, well it just sounded that you just polished them and all in all it took you only 10 min. You didnt mention you had to strip paint as well. And im changing everything and rebuilding the wheels so its a bit of a different story.

Oh I was referring to the polish process, using that stuff you don't have to sand the wheel at all.
Anyways here's my Kilo after chopping the steerer and adding my track drops and a thomson stem I scored at a swap meet.

When I ordered them, my madison was set up ss, not fixed, so I got both of them machined.
Well, when they came in the mail I decided to "fix" the madison.
You really can't tell a difference between the machined sidewall and the high polished rim, except the sidewall has tiny grooves in it- doesn't look bad at all imo, and still gives me the option to throw on a freewheel and run a rear brake.
See the "track" in my sig to check em out.

Tank, is that the thomson that had a slight crack in the faceplate, or did you find another one there?
I almost bought it and sent the faceplate in for a replacement.
There was a guy that got there after you guys left that had a 27.2 black thomson post and a black thomson stem for $35ea brand new.

No it doesn't have any damage, I got it from the guy who was set up by the stage that was selling the expresso. Got it for $30 so I can't complain.

Yes those are the stock wheels painted black. I scuffed up the original paint and covered the spokes in masking tape and painted the whole wheel instead of just the machined brake surface so the paint would match throughout. I used pretty basic Krylon paint from wal-mart that was a satin finish (Semi-gloss or semi-flat).

Thomson + Brooks looks funny to me for some reason. Other than that it looks like mine. 90mm stem?
