I turned this corner too sharply, had pedal strike, back wheel jumped out, I tried to correct, but my bars jerked to the right; flew out of my cages and over my handlebars, bounced off the ground, hit the back/top area of my head, and rolled over into the opposing lane, where an SUV stopped in sheer terror.

Also, it was a day I chose not to wear my helmet, as I was just running down the street to my friend's house, then coming back. I am glad I did not hit my head extremely hard. It felt more like someone punched me in the back of the head, and I have had huge rocks and **** thrown at my head.

I stood up, said "aww ****," picked up my glasses and bike, and rode away. The lady in the SUV checked to see if I was okay, which was nice. I am not sure she knew what to do if something worse had happened, considering how horrified she looked.

**** sucks. I have a bunch of raspberries on the left side of my left knee, side, and elbow.

It is weird because I had pedal strike earlier on this turn onto a hill towards my friend's house. I was not expecting the pedal strike, but managed to correct it, ended up going onto the sidewalk to avoid eating ****, kept riding.

It was just not my day!

hey I know this isnt the right place to post this but Im a kilo tt rider and didnt feel like it was worth its own thread. Can someone help me identify the brand of this cog? I got it for cheap ($10) and the guy who sold it to me claims its an unbranded surly cog, which i dont believe. Any ideas?

Knock-0ff most likely, why would surly go through the trouble of branding the thread and tooth count specs but not the most important thing which is their logo. Idk if your lighting is what is causing this but it looks like cast aluminum, surly cogs are extruded aluminum.

The tooth profile looks like Surly, and the type face of the info etched in it is the same.
It looks like it might have been prototype and didn't go through the whole machining process, but it definitely looks like a Surly otherwise.

For 10 bucks though, who really cares? Ride it till its worn.

Also Surly cogs are steel, not alu.

haha i actually ****ed up on the tape. It's Fizik Soft Tape, and it's very unforgiving.

I used to have drops, didn't like them so I moved onto rb021's. VERY comfortable. I suggest getting a wider one, otherwise get a Syntace.

Finally, yes that's electrical tape with spare bar tape underneath to protect my tt if I wipe out.
