cards in the spokes...genuine question!

not trolling...thanks for the answer (before the gestapo closed the original post).

sure, i joined in '05. never looked at the fixed/ss forum much. now that i've got one, i do, and i notice the cards in others bikes that i'd also overlook previously.

sheesh.

They make a clacky sound as they roll past and smack the stays. We like to pretend we're riding 250cc dirtbikes.

here's a good summation:

http://fixedgeargallery.com/spokecards.htm

most of waht was posted in the other therad was spot-on too (aside from the completely unnecessary reactionary locking)

megatron 06-06-07 02:10 PM

i think it was closed because you said "it looks like the ultimate in poseur fashion" and made yourself sound like a ******.

well that is true, and every1 sounds like a tard on the nets

iamarapgod 06-06-07 02:30 PM

Yeah it does seem to go against the whole minimalism/fixed thing right?

joeyready 06-06-07 05:35 PM

alot are cards from alleycats, the rest are just decorations. I laminate random stuff and put it in my spokes

slopvehicle 06-06-07 06:21 PM

they turn your wheels into SAILS for when you attach your fixie-pontoons and brave the high seas

sheesh.

Too much junk being posted at late hours has caused a crackdown on wayward threads.

You can probably thank me. :(

Spoke cards originated from racing, but hey, they're creative something to do. Make some cool ones for your friends and put them in their spokes when they're not looking!

I thought they originated from four-year olds. I had spoke cards before I even knew what an alley was, much less an alleycat...

i like putting aces opposite the drive side chainstay.. they make special clickity clacks. oh and rookie cards.

andypants 06-07-07 07:38 AM

I prefer cards in the spokes that make me sound like a motorcycle.

joshuastar 06-07-07 07:57 AM

i prefer motorcycles. screw this chain tension crap.

you can also stick a piece of paper with your phone number on it in hot people's spokes when they're not looking and hope they call you!
...not that I've done this...

jeac 06-07-07 08:32 AM

i've left so many notes in the spokes of people's bikes that i know when i'd see them locked up somewhere
