Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

So many posts all day every. What the hell do you all do that allows you to waste so much time on bf?

I'll start: self-employed software developer.

undergrad, and I administrate forums for a few bands, so it's nice to mix in bike banter with banter between dumb teenage scene kids

Mander...get to work! I'm not going to tell you again!! I need to read up on what conclusions you come to already

I don't start my summer job for another week...that means fifty miles of riding a day spread between my three bikes, lots of museum time, some BF time, and reading/drinking time.

graduate student (not) finishing dissertation

I work in a lab in Camden right by the aquarium.

Dumpsterlife: there are a bunch of guys (i.e. poor grad students that read bikeforums instead of finishing theses/dissertations) here in my lab that bike in from Philly over the bridge. We should organize some rides... or something.

I deliver food one or two days a week in brooklyn, I work at bike shop on LI selling bikes two days a week, and on occasion I pick up work here and there.....so I have usually 4 days a week off that I spend hanging out riding bikes, cooking with friends, going on trips, or as im doing right now chilling in my rediculous rent free apartment in manhattan........Life is great right now.

I just graduated and am working full time as a video editor. I work faster than the jobs come in so I spend too much time online and hate my life. I'm going on a bike tour in 2 months and never coming back.

Graduate student, just finished my Master's degree, going to take a year or two off because I'm kind of sick of the 80-100 hour work week between school and work so that I can eat.

So come August I'll hopefully be teaching classical guitar and music theory at a performing arts high school for a year or two, then going and getting my Ph.D. in music theory.

Basically I want to have weekends for awhile, thus the year or so off.

Oh, as of right now I have a joke of a job waiting tables, and I also teach guitar privately. So mostly I ride/work on/lovingly gaze at my bikes.
