There was one floating around on this board somewhere. I don't remember where though. It was big. Are you looking for a functional bag or just something leather to sling over the shoulder.

a leather messenger bag would be really disgusting after a couple sweaty rides.

If you are willing to stray from leather, I can't say enough good things about Chrome messenger bags. Freakin bomb proof. And you stuff stays bone dry.

"I'm looking for something that says, 'Daddy likes leather.'"
"You mean like... leather daddy?"
"Oh! Does such a thing exist?"

EDIT: Pic doesn't like to be hotlinked apparently.

And as a serious answer, if you can't find a full leather messenger bag, Timbuk2 has a line of bags that are canvas with leather trim. They're recently discontinued and I got one for 50% off on closeout.

call up reload or someone else who does custom work, ask how much material it takes for them to make a bag, and then buy a hide big enough.

fsnl
sparky

Do you ever just forget to write fsnl sparky, or do you have a script of some sort that always types it?

My gf got me one of those, it's heavy as hell because there are so many damn compartments in it. Then again, I only use it on the days I take the subway to work and put my documents and lunch and **** in it. Used to ride with a chrome bag but now I have a vented backpack.

The leather, I suspect will soak up sweat and salt like there's no tomorrow. It's not the same closed stiff leather that is in a brooks saddle like the OP is thinking of.

vee_dub 06-09-07 03:02 AM

anymore leather goodies suggestion??

Um, I have those things, but then, I ride horses. Ok, I don't have a brooks yet.

you could always get someone to modify real saddlebags, I guess. you would have a really heavy bag, though.
