Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Rocky Mountain boroughs

Hey- I just went to check out bikes with a friend of mine who is getting into fixed gear... all we could really find at the shop we went to was the Rocky Mountain Boroughs- which apparently like a 2008 and not on the website...

Does anyone know anything about it? I thought it looked pretty sweet, even though it's set up to be more track bike and less street bike (no brakes... track drops... who are they trying to kid?). Anyways- all this aside i think it's a little overpriced, but kinda sweet anyways. Does anyone else have any experience or opinions?

i like rocky mountain. they are making lots of cool bikes, such as the sherpa that not many other companies are doing.

I saw one locally at Bikes on the Drive. It looked pretty sweet. For $900 cdn it's not too much more than a pista or KHS Flite. Anyone got a components list?

It is pretty sweet- but it seems like it's intended for street use- so why track it out?

It takes 10 mins to put in risers or whatever and throw on a brake. Generally a bike store is happy to do stuff like that for free or very little when you are buying a new bike.
