Fetish frame to build up, please help
This is my first fixed gear build and second fixed gear bike. I am from Ontario, Canada and need some good advice on fairly priced components to buy for my 59cm fetish frame. The only think I have already on the bike is a brooks saddle, rocky mountain seatpost and Soma major taylor bars (excluding a stem).
I have about 450 american that I just recieved from tax refunds and want to spend this on some componentry. Should I buy a build kit? What website would you reccomend? Finally, what specific parts would you reccomend. I am holding off on wheels until I have more money. I am hoping to buy some black deep vs. By the way, here is the link to the specs of my frame : http://www.fetishcycles.com/road/attack/index.html I would appreciate it if some folks could let me know what size/type headset, bottom bracket, stem, and fork to get as I am afraid I cannot tell by looking at the specs as many of you could. Thanks for your help. Levi |

You should probably move out of Barrie. Do people actually ride bikes there?

man, you canucks. all day i've been thinking how much better all of you are than us americans. and i'm not being sarcastic. i'm not joking. i mean, ****, look at this:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=kLXRVvA6T9k as for components, i like sugino 75 cranks. i use a campy bb, but...i dunno, something japanese is probably a better bet. wheels can be spendy. i love my miche primatos and deep v's. i also love nitto 021 bars, random flat bars, and cyclone stems (might be hard to find...but if you look up portland oregon's shop known as bike central, they sell 'em). the cyclone isn't a looker, and is heavy, but it's burly for lots of street riding abuse. it looks good in a tough way, as mtb parts sometimes do. i believe the fetish frames need a 1 1/8" headset and fork, but i could be just plain wrong there. |
For advice/prices try the Toronto FG thread in the Ride section. At least 4 of the guys are shop owners/employees and all ride and sell fg bikes. Post in there and I'm sure you will have no problem getting ideas and prices from them.

I actually do live in Toronto during the school year and have looked into buying fixed gear parts in the city. It seems like they are fairly pricey, a lot more so than online. Correct me if im wrong. Plus does anyone know a good way to avoid paying duty on items purchased online which are being shipped from the US to Canada?
