Is this a viable idea?
Before I bought my pista my beater bike was an old Raleigh 3-speed sport.
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8...1007001fd2.jpg Now I'm hooked on fixed gear riding (because of the pista) and I've been wondering if anyone has converted one of these old 3-speeds to a fixie. Because of its weight I thought it might be too hard to stop, so I maybe I could convert it to singlespeed with a coasterbrake (it has a coaster right now). Thoughts? Comments? Thanks. |
might be an interesting fixed gear
i dunno but i dont see the point in making it ss |

**** that. just leave it. find a REAL beater and convert that.
you don't need to make everything ever fixed. |
Sure. why not . . .

Didn't Shelden say those things make great conversions?

what do you weigh? If it weighs, say, above 25% percent of your weight then you may experience it being harder to stop. Thats why you should get a brake.......
Give it a go. Keep the fenders. |
