i always forget this...
how small do track cogs go? it's 14t, right? but i think i've heard that shimano made one as low as 12t, just not for very long, so there aren't many.
|
I know they made 12t suntour ones.
|
the 12t and (maybe 13t also) ones would require smaller (eg. thinner) lockring..because the chain would hit a normal sized lockring.
don't bother with a track cog under 14t. just go larger chainring. |
thanks, i'll try not to forget this. i swear this has been brought up before, but i couldn't find the thread...
oh, and i know a larger chainring is better, but i'm thinkin about building up a bike with a bmx chainring, so it may have to have a smaller chainring. i like bmx chainrings: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/images/fsa%2...0chainring.jpg etc... |

meh, low 70s to maybe mid 70s. the thing is, i know there are some chainrings i could get at 44t or 45t, like i'd like. but there are some i've found that are kinda cool, but top out at 39t, 40t...some don't even go that high. |
I think he was just trying to illustrate that they are not difficult to obtain.
|
don't fight, guys. he was just trying to help...it's hard to understand people's exact meanings on the intarwebz sometimes.

OOOH! I like BMX chainwheels too! I seen them as high as 46 (I think).
What cranks can you use with that FSA? FSA? The cranks tend to be pricey though. |

no kidding.
I was asking Human. More like, FSA or Profile Racing etc. |
ha ha ha...no...i dunno about the cranks, i have a bmx and i'm really doing badly at learning tricks, so i 'll probably cannibalize that. the cranks are sort of worn, maybe they're fsa.

I understand... but still, I was asking Human which ones in particular he was going to use.
I really like that setup that MrWhite has on his Fixed. |
I have a 13tooth cog that I may be getting rid of soon.
Edit: Its a Dura-Ace piece, so they make them for sure. |
