That exact same thing has happened to me. A little, tiny, nearly-invisible shard had pierced all the way through, and I changed my tire 3 times in one night before I finally found it.

i didn't know there was a design flaw, but this was my first notion.

File down the hole where the valve stem passes through if there is a shard. When i throw rim tape on, i make sure the tape passes through the hole from the inside out so that the edges are also covered. Make sure rim tape is covering entire rim and he is inflated to the proper PSI.

Another good point. Are they pinch-flats/snakebites? (caused by underinflation)
