Yet the instant it crosses an imaginary line, the shipping charges go up 3000%.

Anyone finish building their bike up? I estimate that within one hour of my bike arriving I will have it built up and have pictures.

Could you also do it General Delivery to the closest U.S. Post Office? I don't know, just a thought.

xylophonecks 07-02-07 03:04 PM

i believe tony said that they were shipping out as many of the frame only orders as they could last week and today, then getting on everything else tomorrow, along with the regular IRO orders.

bryanp 07-02-07 03:25 PM

I bet the fact that I ordered a build kit will keep my frame from shipping today. Whammy.

I got a quantumveiw Email at 4:30 with UPS tracking number and scheduled for delivery date and I live in Maryland about 3 1/2 hours south of Middlesburg, PA. If I didn't get a shipping notice today I was thinking of driving up there to get the frameset.

a huge bummer? Think about it. Shipping is normally combined when several small items can go in a larger box. A bike frame is already a very large box, it's not like you can easily re-box multiple frames together.

Haven't checked email recently, but hoping my black frame doesn't show up this week, as I'll be out of town.

the bummer is that he already said he would combine shipping and now hes going back on that. i had already asked him in an email.

"We will combine shipping and charge the card for one shipping price.

Tony"

rknj 07-02-07 05:50 PM

Do you really want two bike frames bouncing around in the same box, potentially damaging each other?

Shipping a heavier package costs more, shipping two frames safely requires significantly more packing (costing more), and it's a lot more work (time=money) for a great guy who's hooked us up and is making all of $2 per frame off of this. In the long run, it would cost just about as much to ship them together as separately.

jayrooney 07-02-07 05:55 PM

he wasn't lying.
your card was probably charged one shipping price to ship 2 frames in 2 boxes.
the shipping is pretty cheap. definitely not worth complaining about.
the complaints need to stop!
Tony did something nice here, did us a favor, and you facks are facking whining.

the shipping to you was cheap cause youre just in nyc. im not whining i just dont get why he would say one thing one day and go back on that the next time he says something about it.

Of course, I may not be able to build it up til September, if my West Coast plans pan out.
