Ok ok. When I go home tonight I'll try to capture its essence in the warm rays of the setting sun. Or something. Danish, no excitement? Sorry to hear about the dings. There one tiny scratch right near the BB shell on the drive side chainstay, but thats all I saw after a quick look-see.

once you hit the "place your order button" it goes back to what is was like before I put my information in.The message at the bottom says: "IMPORTANT: Click "Place Your Order" only once and wait for confirmation of your payment. Thanks for your patience."

How long should it be until confirmation email goes out? Its already been a couple of hours. Should I click again.
Tell Al Gore the internets r hard.

Why hasn't anyone built their frameset up yet(and posted photos)?

Slackers!

polara426sh 07-03-07 09:40 AM

As soon as I get my frame I will. I have all the parts sitting right next to me.

It's strange that none have been built yet. When I got my road bike frameset(a Pedal Force RS) as part of a group buy, 5-6 people had posted completed builds the day they showed up on their door.

ryand 07-03-07 10:10 AM

Just got the blue in the mail.
I'm all packed up to move to dc, so no pictures though.

I'm giving it to my girlfriend's brother for his birthday, so maybe he will take some pictures and email em to me later.

nickfocus 07-03-07 10:21 AM

i never got a shipping email but my green just showed up at my work a few hours ago. looks great. i'm completely happy with it.

if yuo haven't gotten a shipping email, just relax, it'll get to you soon.

my resepect for IRO as a company has gone down SIGNIFICANTLY given the poor level of customer service ive experienced from them on account of this group buy.

if they didn't think they had the manpower to deal properly with their customers, they shouldn't have took on such an ambitious sales effort (group buy).

wtf

ryand 07-03-07 10:50 AM

please elaborate.

wearyourtruth 07-03-07 10:52 AM

dude, the original idea was that we needed 40 frames (i think) to get the discount, and we were debating whether we would be able to get that many people in on it... NO ONE thought we would end up with 400+

ryand 07-03-07 10:53 AM

also, the paint seems fragile (chips easily) but whatever, it was $150.

so be careful unpacking your frames and installing your components and what not.

I'm sure the fine folks at IRO would be more than happy to refund your $50 and not have to deal with your nasty attitude.

FWIW, both times I have called IRO the phone has been picked up promptly and Tony was wonderful to deal with. Excellent customer service as far as I'm concerned.

ryand 07-03-07 11:11 AM

Same with me.
I've even had calls *OHMYGOSH* returned.
And emails returned.

Its sorta like the NYCBikes thing. Some people say they have ****ty customer service, others say they were treated well. Now, DONT START TALKING ABOUT NYCBIKES. It was an example.

dirtyphotons 07-03-07 11:18 AM

it is nothing like the nycbikes thing.

2am, i'm sure your local bike shop will be happy to give you the service you feel entitled to.

rallen 07-03-07 11:29 AM

my resepect for 2am as a part of society has gone down SIGNIFICANTLY given the poor level of respect and patience ive experienced from him on account of this group buy.

if he didn't think he had the manpower to deal properly with the company that sold him a frame at $200 off the list price, he shouldn't have took on such an ambitious purchase (group buy).

wtf

the real question we're all wondering is...

does the blue look like the original swatch...or does it look more turquois?

ryand 07-03-07 11:43 AM

closer to the original, but a little bit of green in it.

that picture he posted was clearly blown out.

i found the girlfriend's camera. i'm gonna go take a photo.

skanking biker 07-03-07 11:48 AM

Any e-mails confirming shipping for black frames yet?

ryand 07-03-07 11:55 AM

um... batteries are dead.
can't find more batteries.

ryand 07-03-07 11:56 AM

also, if somebody wants an IRO headbadge, i will totally sell mine.

ha.

willypilgrim 07-03-07 12:03 PM

ungghhh i want to see a new image of the blue.

Here's a pic of the blue frame taken inside with a flash. I guess it is a bright sunlight kind of thing because it definitely doesn't look that blue in normal /interior light, more teal than blue. Why quibble, it looks solid. Add the Miche group set and it's Christmas in July. Thanks to IRO, World Class Cycles, and Grasschopper.
