I'm still stoked about my BRG frame cause I've wanted one for ages, but that black is hotness. Cheers to everyone who got one, next beater I pick up is getting a matte black powdercoat.

Igneous Faction 07-06-07 06:25 PM

Got black, I love it. Not a scratch to be seen.

666pack 07-06-07 09:30 PM

first off: nice cat. black cats rule.
second off: does anyone else who got black think it needs a clearcoat? i'm pretty sure i'm gonna clearcoat mine. maybe just a matte finish, maybe glossy. definitly gonna put a few hundred miles on it before i take anything apart.

i will have a completed build tomorrow.

SOOOOO frustrated. I had the frame set to be delivered to my office b/c UPS always leaves the boxes sitting in the entranceway at my apartment and I didn't want my frame sitting there if it was delivered during the day. The frame was suppossed to be delivered on the 9th. But i checked the UPS tracking and it is sitting at the UPS here---it arrived early!.

Its right there but I have to wait till monday.

GRRRRRRRR

Never have I wanted a weekend to go by so fast!

In Absentia 07-06-07 09:35 PM

At least you know yours is on the way. I don't think mine's even been shipped yet.

tony told me yours was still in taiwan

666pack 07-06-07 09:38 PM

tony DID say something about a hundred and fifty frames falling off the ship somewhere in the middle of the pacific.

got my 62cm green frame today, and I'm very pleased. The BRG looks great to me.

...but Oh My God! That fork weighs a boatload.

Does anyone make a chrome, sloping/semi-sloping crown 1.125 threadless steel fork?

You'd probably have to have one built for you. Try calling around to some frame builders. I know Vanilla will do custom forks, but his work isn't cheap.

Sacha's waiting list is too long for me to deal with, or I'd be riding one already.

thanks for the idea of going custom though.:)

Quacker 07-07-07 11:19 PM

So did you get an email confirming that your frame was shipped before you got the frames or did they just come for you guys after you put your order through?

polara426sh 07-07-07 11:28 PM

I never got a shipping email.

got mine as well and noticed this too, but like, the whole frame and fork weighs what, 4 lbs? I lifted the box and it hardly felt like anything was in there. and if you are looking at aftermarket steel I don't think you are gonna find anything a whole lot lighter.

thebigmrT 07-08-07 10:47 AM

the 56cm frame is 4 lbs and the uncut fork is 2lbs, i weighed mine at my shop yesterday hah

slugman 07-08-07 11:20 AM

weighed my 59cm frame out to 2015g and the fork at 1060g(with the crown race installed and uncut steerer), so 4.44lbs and 2.33lbs I'll be using that fork for now, but that'll be an area for improvement down the road when you can cut the weight in half for 100 bucks.

post your threaded set up!

haven't finished building my threaded frame yet, but the threads on the fork were pretty bad. the headset wouldn't even screw on. might've just been my fork but i'd recommend getting the threads chased.

bryanp 07-10-07 07:29 AM

Has anyone been getting emails this week?

shogun17 07-10-07 07:59 AM

got my shipping confirmation email. Still don't know how much it cost.

chase. 07-10-07 08:07 AM

got a shipping email & tracking number last night.

edit: 53cm blue threadless, seatpost collar.

bryanp 07-10-07 11:25 AM

Anyone that ordered frames along with build kits get their stuff yet?

tacreamer 07-10-07 11:37 AM

My green 59-cm was delivered with a build kit yesterday.

mine's done (with the exception of a temporary black seatpost), but no pics yet...

all mixed up: blue threaded, white aeroheads to the new f/f somas, whitewalls, campy record cranks/bb, gunmetal grey chain, NOS duraace headset, ttt stem, major taylors/ with clear grips, had a silver DA seatpost, but LBS had the wrong diameter marked on it and it didn't fit) -- throwing a fluted campy on today, white specialied team toupe saddle (may go on another bike, looks too new/techy/out of place, we'll see with the new seatpost).

looks great, rides nice but feels quite a bit smaller than my other bikes. this may end up on the bay or going to a friend. also, the paint totally neads a couple coats of clear, **** was a bit chipped when it came, and i put another in the tt just by barely bumping it with a wrench on the stand.

jayrooney 07-10-07 12:22 PM

sounds good! let's see some pics.
paint chips add character! the more the better.

freeskihp 07-10-07 12:48 PM

man, I was really starting to get pissed about the whole IRO not shipping my frame thing but once I was able to get ahold of them the customer service was great, MY FRAME SHIPS OUT TOMMOROW!
