Did any other canadians get screwed on shipping costs? I was already choked at the prices ... and then I see how much most people paid and now I'm downright upset...

103 should give me a 42 chainline, yes? |
Oh, if only it was $32.
I live in Ontario, which is closer to IRO than CA is ... Tony only offered two shipping options, both through UPS (Expedited and Express). I picked the cheap one (expedited). My shipping cost was $156. That is not a typo. $156. More than the frame and headset. I have an email in with Tony now. Hopefully this can be resolved. |
omfg
the guy in australian is going to ****ing eat it! |

That's insane. Shipping to Denver was $26. I'm a couple thousand miles away and you're right next door, comparatively; even with "international" shipping, it shouldn't be that much. Good luck getting it worked out. |
Yeah. I know. At my shop, people have gotten complete bikes shipped in for half that. I really really hope Tony can resolve this. And the guy in Australia is going to poo blood for a week.

HAHAHAHAHA BRILLIANT!!! |

I'm waiting until I get the frame to find out. Actually, I think I'll do a test fit on another bike first. I'll let you know what I find out.
Seriously though, save yourself pain and money and buy the matching BB. |

That was my plan. Until the LBS owner told me that he has tried it and sold them to people in the past and they were too short.

I have sugino RD's and run shimano 68/107 bottom bracket. I've run these on 2 bikes and different wheel sets without any issues.

that sucks, it was $11 to my door

(why do they have to make this **** so crazy?) I'm pretty sure 107's are symmetrical and 110's aren't. For Sugino RD2's (the current version, single crown logo and no other screening), you need the sugino 103 bb. Anything else will be fubar. I have them on a 107 shimano and the chainline, as best as I can measure, is about 45.6. So even on a hypothetical shimano 103 symmetrical (no such critter exists), they would still be 1.6 off. With a 2mm spacer, you could run them with the ring on the inside and they would be darn near spot-on, though not as pretty as they could be. The shimano are JIS taper, the cranks will not work on ISO (only about 3mm of taper left in the cranks on JIS, ISO sits 4.5mm farther in). I'm coming to be of the opinion that the sugino BB is an intermediate taper, but I haven't measured one. Anyone considering RD's who can't use the sugino BB (non-british threaded bike) should look into XD's. Very similar quality level and price, 110 bolt circle, fit on wider BB's. Silver are hard to find, black are everywhere. |

Which version of the RD do you have? |
I can tell you right now that the Sugino BB will get you ~42mm chainline. Harris Cyclery will say the same. Many people on here can attest to it as well.
|
I have this version
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../sugino-rd.jpg also, I went into harris cyclery and they set my end with that bottom bracket and crank. |
fwiw, i bought the miche BB, which is 68, english, 107mm, and both cups are adjustable. You need a 12-spline tool to mate with it, but my coop had one.
