Lockring Stripping

Last night I was on a casual ride, with the wind in my hair. I began to back pedal to come to a stop when my rear cog completely unscrewed. I put it back on and carefully went home. I stripped straight through my stock Pista lock ring. What a piece of ****.

So lets here your fun lock ring stripping stories.

I just bought a lock ring tool, and then striped it seconds later. So im going home with no lock ring, and my 4th spoke breaks (by 4th i mean the 4th one to break).

Now i run a rear wheel with no lock ring, 2 missing spokes, and a brake.

I just basically unthreaded my stock pista lockring as well skipping down a big hill. Thank god it didnt come all the way off or I wouldve been done for.

Something similiar happened to me. After finally flipping my hub from singlespeed to fixed i was out riding around and when i back pedalled i felt the fixed gear slipping. Then it finally slipped right off leaving me pedalling to no effect. Later, when i trying to fix the problem back home, i completely stripped the thread on the fixed side of the hub. F#@ken sucks because I was really enjoying riding fixed until then. Now I have to go and get a new hub.
