Bike Cult is a great book. Much of it is dedicated to the history of the bicycle, but it goes into many other topics. Also, if you're interested in human-powered airplanes, speed records, or the many human-powered contraptions out there other than the traditional bicycle, it's a great read.

"Nervesof Steel" is an interesting read but be prepared, it has no flow. The book jumps around like it has been shuffled.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. Good call. Still some nice insight though. I have another book, all photos, by Kyle Shepard, called "Bicycle Messenger." Very nice piece of art.

Out of Print. I had Kyle sign and send one to me when it was first printed. There was a release party and everything in SF (which I did not make). I think Amazon has one listed as used, but it is like 192.00 or something like that.

Ive met lambchop before(she came and rode in an alleycat here),read her book too......also read the immortal class.Wasnt impressed with Lambchop or her book,liked the immortal class but hear from some chicago messengers he aint all that.....for what that's worth.

Columbus, eh? Met 3 messers from there (actually a brief encounter) at the CCC Supercat. Travis is ULTRA hyped about bikes and their place in the world. Nice guy, never messed with him, but I'd buy him a beer just being who he is; Travis Culley-a guy with dreams.

I expected her to be a better rider I guess......not sure how to put it,I guess Ive just grown accustomed to the gals that ride around here...a couple of em put some of the guys to shame,lambchop wasnt like that....nice girl,but methinks she was more social than working.

Travis....love his book,and his outlook on what makes cities function.Never met him....you hear all kinds of rumours bout everyone,most are just that.
