Or, in your case, like half a deck of unmodified playing cards.

BTW: They're called "spoke cards." Without knowing that, pirate's very creative way of telling you to search before posting would have been pretty much useless.

Spoke cards. nothing to do with "hipsters." you get one for a race, they've got a design on one (or both) side, and a number. sometimes, the way the race is organized, you need a racer number (give it to checkpoint workers, or for the organizers to track manifests in large races...). other times, it's just a souvenier.

Drop those hipsters with the "look I'm legit" spoke cards, and bolt one of these babies onto your ride:
https://www.turbospoke.com/pg_products/products.asp

Be sure and click on the sound bite.

They are working on NJS certifivation of this product as we speak...

so tight. kids with HED and Aerospokes won't get the full effect. i actually thought about making my own but louder, then never got around to it. The Hunneret' spoke pimpstar wheels on all the chopper bikes would sound interesting with one, probably alot like a constant fart.

what does that even mean? part of the function is a souvenier. what's the point of taking them out?

i've got loads of cards in my spokes. i'm not trying to say anything to anybody with them. they're in there because i stuck em there during races and there they shall stay cause i like em, i like to look at em, and i like seeing other riders and saying, "oh, hey, you were at that race too? remember that checkpoint blah blah blah...?"

am i a goof ball? is my beat up knockaround IRO an excessively flashy bike?

Actually, if you collect enough spoke cards, they will cover the entire surface area of your wheel, and then you'll have the coolest disc wheel ever!

I keep mine in for about a week after the race, because they are really good conversation starters for others you see out there that also did the same race that you didnt meet during it, or people who heard about the race but coudlnt come or something, good way to meet new people.

I dont collect them though or keep them in any longer than that personally, but even left in after the race, they have the above function.

okay, i will just come out and say that i think spoke cards are the lamest fashion joke in the cycling world. everyone is free to decorate their bike according to their taste, but i despise accessories that have absolutely no functional purpose. they are the paragon of a status symbol. but to each his (or her) own.

you arnt alone. Seems like a lot of cyclists feel this way. There is definitely a big non-functional accessory backlash going on recently, I mean look at the popularity of bikesnobnyc.

Personally though, im into it. Not really spokecards, but I like a couple of other little fashion accessories, and dont see the problem with a little bling =p

When I was younger, I wouldn't remove ski lift tickets from my ski jacket for the entire season.
I just kept sticking one on top of the other leaving a hint of the one beneath it. You could have called me a posuer if you wanted, however I could tell you exactly how much skiing/boarding I did that serason.

I have zero cards in my spokes...that's because I've participated in zero races. If and when I do race...those muthas are staying in my spokes!
