Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

weird recurring theme in my dreams

i've been finding myself bicycling in my dreams more than lately which is nice but the weird thing is in my dreams i keep having the cog slip off and then when i look there's no lockring and the cog is just kinda bouncing freely on the axle, there's nothing else similar about all of my dreams just the bicycle riding portion always ends at my proper destination with my cog unthreading, i'm sure it's some sort of weird dream metaphore for the rest of my life but still it applies here so i'm sharing

From Dreammoods.com so you know it's true...

Bicycle To dream that you are riding a bicycle, signifies your desires to attain a balance in your life. You need to balance work and pleasure in order to succeed in your current undertakings. If you have difficulties riding the bicycle, then it suggests that you are experiencing anxieties about making it on your own. To see a bicycle in your dream, indicates that you need to devote time to leisurely pursuits and recreation.

I had a dream the other night where my bike broke :-( It wasn't anything that would really happen in real life, but it was still sad. I would like touch it and parts would come off. It was probably because i just got the bike, and i'm afraid i'm going to screw something up and it won't ride all nicely anymore. Good thing when i woke up everything was peachy keen.

I had a friend who used to dream that her teeth were rotting and when she touched them they fell out. That site says rotting teeth dreams have to do with poor body image. Maybe you're afraid your bike is ugly or needs some deep Vs. That must be it.

that site is bunk. rotting teeth is almost always ************ anxiety. also, since in the dream it was more about a cog unscrewing, i don't really think balance really has much to do with it.

For the past twenty or so years I've dreamed that I could do wheelies. In the dream I know I've dreamed this before but this time its no dream, and I relly can do wheelies. I find it so simple and wonder why it took me so long to figure out how.

Then I wake up and still can't hold a wheelie for more then a few feet.
